United States : FedEx charged in a new drugs transport case
Last month, FedEx was indicted for having transported illegal online pharmacies’drugs suspected to provide medicines without prescription (Read the news edited on 25 July 2014 – Online medicines: FedEx pursued for illegal sales).
On Friday 15 Aug. 2014, the company had faced a new charge for having “accepted payment from several pharmacies when it knew the money was the product of unauthorized prescriptions.”
FedEx has pleaded not guilty. However, if the company is found guilty, it will have to pay a fine of around USD1.6 billion.
