United Arabs Emirates: 1 million of counterfeit pharmaceutical products seized in Dubai

Gulf News announced on Sept. 7 that a raid was carried out in two warehouses. The Department of Economic Development seized one million of fake drugs including weight loss drugs, treatments against erectile dysfunction and cosmetics worth 17 million of UAE dirhams (or almost USD4,628,330) in.
It took 10 hours to seize goods, identify and analyze them to know which ones were fakes.
Goods for the local market were confiscated and will be destroyed while those stored for re-export will be returned to their country of origin. The Department has imposed fines to the offenders.
