A digital image of the surface, of a molded part, is stored in a database, this image is used as a reference to perform the authentication of an entire line of objects produced by the same mold cavity. The product’s authenticity is verified with a office scanner and a computer or an iPhone equipped with AlpVision’s product authentication application and a list of digital references images. The verification only takes 3 seconds. The list of reference images is product specific. The original mold cavity can be identified and thanks to this software solution, help the brand owner locate the manufacturer and determine the approximate production date (*).
