He also recalled how training of caregivers is essential in the fight against counterfeit medicines.

The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) [1] of Angola has announced the seizure of more than 11 tons of counterfeit medicines in the markets of the country equivalent to over one hundred million kwanzas (or about $800,000). The seizure took place between August 19 and 22, 2015 and was conducted as part of the operation Anaconda II led simultaneously in several African countries. The operation would have closed 20 shops selling counterfeit health products.
Among the drugs seized in Angola: antimalarials, antibiotics, sexual stimulants and anabolic steroids. According to Miguel dos Santos Oliveira, Inspector General of the Ministry of Health, these counterfeit drugs originated from China, India, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Nigeria.
