Dr Boniface Okouya, Department of Pharmacy and Medicines (DPM) Director, announced on July 22, 2020, that a new register will be introduced. Pharmacists will be required to record prescribed products which are not OTC medicines and their prescribers in the register. In a presentation during a conference he held at the UN Information Centre, Dr Okouya said that the new procedure will improve traceability and monitor how certain pharmaceuticals are dispensed.
