A bill to relax conditions of online over-the-counter medicines sales on e-commerce platforms is to be discussed at the Council of Ministers. The bill will eradicate several safeguards which include: the possibility for pharmacists that medicines sold online are no longer necessarily stored in the pharmacy but on a remote site. Many pharmacists now fear that internet giants such as Amazon will be able to sell medicines online. The direct-access, OTC medicines market is worth two billion euros.
