Three pregnant women died in the same week after having undergone surgery at Isaïe Jeanty in Chancerelles. One of the doctors reported that: “suspicious, and most probably fake, medicine was found in the victims’ hands” after their death. One of the suspicious products, AMD (Alfa Methyldopa), is “an anti-hypertensive which is often used for pregnant women suffering from pre-eclampsia”. The doctor also stated that: “these medicines were out of stock at that particular moment in the maternity hospital’s pharmacy, as it was being reorganized”.
