According to an LMHRA spokesperson, preventing fake medicines from entering the country and ensuring that all medicines are monitored by relevant agencies will ensure that medicines entering Liberia are safe, rather than fake, products. The spokesperson added that since LMHRA lost its laboratory during a fire in 2017, the need to build a new laboratory which meets international standards would help to improve fake medicine detection in the Liberian market.
