A list has been published following the discovery in July 2018 of nitrosamine (highly carcinogenic) in medicines manufactured in China containing valsartan. Since this information came to light, the FDA has been trying to find out how the problem arose and how to deal with it. “We’re also continuing to work with manufacturers to swiftly remove medications from the market if they contain a nitrosamine impurity at levels higher than the interim acceptable intake limits”, said the Agency.
