Mexico: fake hepatitis C medication warning -

Mexique

The legal director of Gilead Sciences Mexico laboratory has warned that counterfeit copies of Epclusa, a hepatitis C medicine, are circulating in Mexico. The Health Agency has reported that the fake treatment “does not have the “appropriate levels of sofosbuvir and velpatasvir to complete an effective treatment”. Counterfeit tablets were detected in Sinaloa by lot number 19SPFD201, with expiry date 10/2019, in bottles of 400/1 00 milligrams. The fake tablets are not the same size as the original tablets and the printing on the bottles is also very different.
