Last year, Belgian authorities seized 4472 postal parcels containing illegal or counterfeit medicines. “Many cases are small amounts of illegal medicines ordered online by individuals for private use. But some cases are more serious as they necessitate legal action to be taken”, stated the health minister. The most frequently seized medicines were food supplements, painkillers and treatments for erectile dysfunction and epilepsy.
