A national Health Agency COFEPRIS alert has been issued concerning two batches of falsified ophthalmic medication: KRYTAN TEK OFTENO. The alert applies to batch number 4014616 with an expiry date of 28 February 2017 and batch number 4015783 with an expiry date of 29 November 2018. The falsified medicines were discovered following a complaint from the product manufacturer, Sophia Laboratory. The laboratory has stated that the labels, packets and bottle do not tally with the genuine product and that there is primary and secondary packaging falsification. The laboratory has also indicated that the active ingredients in the falsified copy do not match the original formula.
