Sky News has revealed that prescription medicines such as anti-anxieties, widely known as Valium and Xanax, pregabalin (an anti-epileptic treatment) and opioids can be bought on Facebook without a prescription. Sky News reported illegal accounts to Facebook and received a brief reply from Facebook’s technical support department: “We’ve looked over the profile you reported, and although it doesn’t go against any of our specific Community Standards, we understand that the profile or something the person shared may still be offensive to you.” The accounts were only removed after Sky News contacted Facebook’s press office.
