Benin deputies have approved the European Council’s Medicrime Convention signature and ratification. Claudine Afiavi Prudencio, President of the Education, Culture, Employement and Social Affairs Commission, urged deputies to “rapidly implement” the Convention in order to step up the fight against counterfeit medicines in Benin. The President outlined that “99%, if not 100% of Benin dispensing pharmacies sell medicines of suspect quality”.
