Argentina: 11% of medicines sold in Argentina are illicit says Argentine Union of Pharmacists and Biochemists (SAFYB) general secretary -

Marcelo Peretta, Argentine Union of Pharmacists and Biochemists (SAFYB) general secretary, says that 24,000 deaths a year are caused by overmedication, automedication issues and the consumption of illicit and falsified medicines. Perette states that 11% of medicine sales are illicit medicines. This is 6% higher than in developed countries. The problem stems from a poorly monitored medicine supply chain.
