Trafficking in fake medicines is getting worse and threatens all of us: it kills thousands of people every year and is has become one of the leading financing sources for organized crime. This is why the international Institute of Research Against Counterfeit Medicines (IRACM) has been supporting the World Customs Organization (WCO) since 2012 in organizing interceptions of containers in African seaports to curtail the strategy of traffickers which targets the underprivileged population.

On Friday, January 20, 2017, IRACM and WCO organize a media breakfast to unveil the results of ACIM operation (Action against Counterfeit and Illicit Medicines) and present the ongoing evolutions of traffickers’ practices: fraud routes, concealment methods, classes of medicines, etc,…

Will be present to decipher the new practices of fake medicines’ traffickers:

  • Ana B. Hinojosa, Director Compliance and Facilitation, WCO.
