Die Welt website report, dated 10 November, fake medicine trafficking is a booming business in Germany. German customs seized almost 4 million illicit tablets in 2015; four times the amount seized in 2014. Two criminal gangs are currently standing before the German court (in Potsdam and in Essen). The products are imported by air from China, India, and Bangladesh. They are then sold through thousands of illegal online pharmacies for prices much higher than in pharmacies; million-dollar profits are being made. Steroids and beauty and slimming products are the current trend and are the leading products in the ever-increasing black market. The government has promised to take action to wipe out this problem.
