On 4 November, Malian authorities incinerated more than 4 tons of drugs and illicit medicine thought to be worth over $800,000. The haul included 500kg of fake psychotropic substances. The illicit products were seized during several raids between March and October 2016. This is the Malian authorities’ largest raid this year; it took place two weeks after a major drug trafficker and an accomplice were arrested (with the assistance of Senegal police).
