Many medicines in the Egyptian market – antibiotics, contraceptives, anti-D immunoglobulin injections and food supplements – are unfit for human consumption. The products would be fake coming from China and Cuba or illegally produced locally. There is concern over the fact that, in addition to the black market, these products are also being sold in pharmacies and medical centers.
