Authorities have issued a warning after discovering and seizing fake fentanyl in five Eastern Ontario counties. This powerful opioid analgesic is fatal even in small doses and is sold illegally as a street drug in powder or tablet form. It is most often sold as a drug and added to cocaine, heroin and crystal meth but traffickers also pass it off as well-known painkillers: oxycontin and percocet.
