According to the public prosecutor, the goods which were seized over the past six months include drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and fake and illicit health products. The goods are worth almost RD$ 260 million (more than €5 million). The amount of fake medicines seized is worth RD$ 40 million (almost €800,000) alone. A total of 1,470 inspections and 79 raids were carried out during which 97 people were arrested and 5 health centers and pharmacies were closed.
