African pharmacists met in Douala at the end of June, which follows the recent conference of the health ministers of the CEMAC member states, (http://www.iracm.com/2016/07/les-pays-dafrique-centrale-luttent-ensemble-contre-les-faux-medicaments/). This African Pharmaceutical Forum (Apf) meeting focused on fake medicines and the fake medicines market. It enabled a strong working relationship to be forged between the Apf, which consists mainly of Anglophone countries, and Francophone countries. African pharmacists took this opportunity to call upon their governments to put a stop to the trafficking and to step up sanctions against those guilty of the crime.
