Officials report that 2,000 doses of medicines and 172 unfilled prescriptions have been seized. Four doctors and two pharmacists are accused of embezzling social security by using patient data to falsify official prescriptions. The enquiry was opened in March after an organized group of Cubans and Argentinians were caught in illegal dealings. Anabolic steroids and psychotropics exported to Cuba and Argentina were part of the seized products. These countries have a shortage of medicines.
