New Zealand’s involvement in the international operation Pangéa IX – coordinated by Interpol – has permitted the seizure of 173 suspicious packages.
Customs have stated that these medicines were coming from 31 different countries and that the majority of the products were dealing with erectile dysfunction, pain treatment and heart problems.
Medsafe – the medicines and medical devices safety service – recalled that medicines subjected to medical prescription would be destroyed unless specific importers possess a medical certificate.
