A raid conducted by the Hong Kong Customs on December 23, 2015 in Kwun Tong and Ngau Tau Kok resulted in the seizure of some 400,000 counterfeit tablets, and the arrest of a man, 49, suspected to be the head of a trafficking of illegal drug. According to the authorities, the drugs seized were intended to supply the local markets before Christmas and winter holiday season. Customs want to actively combat what constitutes a crime indictable by criminal sanctions.
In this country, in case of conviction for trademark infringement, the trafficker is liable to a maximum fine of $ 500,000 and punishable by a prison term of five years.
