On April 10, 2015, a case of counterfeit medicine entering the legal supply chain was reported with the HIV Viread 245 mg film-coated tablets (Tenofovir) in Germany. This drug is manufactured by Gilead.
On April 15, 23 packs of the batch 4249XD18, Humira 40 mg / 0,8 ml solution for injection in pre-filled syringes (rheumatoid arthritis or psoriasis), durable until May 2016, were identified as counterfeits.
As for the falsified version of Viread, a parallel importer discovered counterfeit drug Humira probably coming from Turkey and Poland. The genuine version belongs to AbbVie laboratory.
The German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) also reports a possible counterfeit version of Pulmozyme 2,500 E./2,5 ml (Dornase alfa) in the legal distribution chain of this country. The batches N0070B03 and N0066B05 were destined to the Polish market and also discovered by a parallel importer. The genuine Pulmozyne is manufactured by Roche.
