Health authorities and law enforcement agencies worked together to establish the foundation for a strategic plan to fight against counterfeit medicines. This plan establishes the mechanisms of control in the country to eradicate this public health threat. Strengthening criminal penalties, inter-agencies coordination and warning patients against the practice of self-medication are some lines of work set up during this meeting.
